This report is part of WP3 (‘supply side mapping’) that focuses on the supply side. For the REFURB project the supply side means everyone who can be a single-point-of contact in a one-stop-shop solution, that is: contractors, architects, engineers, energy consultants, government etc.

The objective of this report is to formulate recommendations to offer renovation packages based upon an analysis of currently available renovation solutions, both technical and non-technical, taking into account the country context. Special attention is being paid to one-stop-shop solutions as they are a promising nontechnical solution for such renovation packages.

This report is part of WP3 (‘supply side mapping’) that focuses on the supply side. In WP 3 the view of the supply side on the demand side and the already known solutions will be mapped. This report D3.1 is about understanding how the supply side perceives the demand drivers and to define the problem of mutual understanding.

A generic method to all involved partners is applied when collecting the necessary information. It consists of questionnaires, designed to evaluate and compare different parameters of the tools, as well as locate the tool intended use on the customer journey.

This report builds on the findings documented in the REFURB Deliverable D3.2 “Existing renovation solutions toward nZEB” Report. The Report has researched the state of the renovation market and listed the solutions for renovation to nZEB that are (near-)available on the market.

This report investigates suitable financing constructions for compelling offers in the REFURB countries. It analyses the financial constructions at national level and holds an overview of existing financial mechanisms for deep energy renovations as well as subsidies. Additionally, recommendations to high-level policy-makers for the implementation of financing mechanisms towards a market uptake of nZEB renovations are outlined.

This deliverable, D5.3, aims to develop a general approach to continuous improvement of the Customer Journey by avoiding dropouts moments and thus increasing the probability of keeping the customers within the Customer Journey towards an nZEB renovation.

This report specifically analyses the qualities of the single point of contact for existing one-stop-shop offers for nZEB renovation to avoid homeowners/ customers from dropping out of the CJ. Gaining insight in these key competences of the single point of contact and also how to train them, is the main focus of this report D5.5. This can be achieved by proposing one-stop-shop offers by a single- point of contact.

The REFURB compelling offers for (deep) energy retrofits have been designed to target the private residential sector. Task 6.3 was to result in a transferability plan for the rental sector, i.e. how REFURB compelling offers could be adapted to fit the rental sector.

Deep renovations of the residential sectors buildings towards Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB) is lagging behind the European political ambitions for energy renovation. The overall REFURB project focuses on bringing forward solutions to solve the complex interplay between the supply side and the demand side of an NZEB renovation and bring forward” an offer you can’t refuse” solutions targeting the residential sector.

This report, Deliverable 6.1, offers an evaluation report of the results of REFURB focusgroup meetings and addresses the following information per REFURB country:

• Profile of the focusgroup;
• Main feedback received;
• Changes made to the compelling offers;
• Recommendations for further development.

The REFURB project was set up in responce to the important Europe wide challenge of improving energy efficiency in residential buildings, and especially in uptake of major renovation of houses. The main barriers thet REFURB related to are the fragmentation of the renovation process itself. On the supply side each supplier (technology providers, contractors and architects) only delivers a fraction of the renovation work and – in general – does not take responsibility for the overall success of the renovation (i.e. the desired energy reduction level). On the demand side, the main barrier lie not only in financial restrictions to renovation or even general awareness of the potential benefits of renovation, but in the fact that private homeowners do not have a structured way to obtain all the necessary information for decisions on renovation solutions.
